It's because Live is a premium service, I'll wager. But I don't get why it was so easy for FFXI and so hard for every MMO since, including FFXIV.
Whatever the case, I suspect money is at the bottom of it.
So basically Fallout-style gameplay:
Guns. Special attacks aka V.A.T.S. Perks. Not too surprising coming from the devs who originally helped make the Fallout series. But hopefully with better, scenario affecting choices than F3. I think I'll get this.
The best story I've ever seen in any game I've ever played in my 20+ years of experience is w/o a doubt Planescape: Torment. This isn't "best game evar" or anything, but the meat-- the story --imo is second to none.
FFVII, MGS. These have epic stories as well. What makes me rate them not as high is the fact that they are seemingly complex for the sake of complexity.
Mass Effect is only just beginning. The first game told its story well and the best dynamic...
LBP is a fantastic new IP. But I'm surprised anyone would mention Uncharted in the same sentence. One is fantastically innovate, the other is good, but just another action game.
I'm still at the Witcher. Great game and great support from the devs.
You know maniac, that's exactly how I feel.
They guy basically says, they let go of their 1st-party hardcore devs to develop 1st-party casual games and Live services. They let go of devs like Ensemble and acquired Big Park to make some f2p microtransaction game called Joyride when you could have had Ensemble working to corner the RTS market on consoles, maybe with Natal. Or less theoretically, a Halo MMO. Don't even get me started on Rare's disappointing statement.

Short answer: It is QTE, but not as completely as people think it is.

Of course they're banking on getting new customers with these features. New customers are the life blood of any product or service.
Never ever as far as I can remember. The closest I can guess is Exdeath because he never removes his helm. Although he never removes anything else either so he might not even be flesh... JRPGs love to have the long-haired pretty boy as the villain.
Gotta say, I love not having to deal with console politics when I'm PC gaming. Every service is just an alt-tab or add-on away.

Kind of agree with what thor's saying. The value of this service hinges on how well integrated it will be. Linking up XBL friends and Facebook friends sounds great. For tweets, if you can't do it inside a game, it's not worth it imo. If you have to dashboard to tweet, there's nothing stopping you from dragging over that laptop or getting to that PC.
They should offer an incentive to replace the rather easy task of dragging that laptop over and pulling up a browser.

It's the same way I feel about sex or nudity in games. I have no problems with any of that, but I have every problem with a game based entirely around it. I think it's great to acknowledge but a whole other issue to make a game solely for gay men and women.
Make the game good first. Confront issues later.

It's understandable if you feel that way, but it's plainly wrong to submit and withhold credit. The article has the source right on the page. As they say, two wrongs don't make a right.
You know, it is interesting in its subtleties.
I think people have interpreted this as a pro-PS3 piece because of the writer's opinions and the less than subtle way the other two consoles have been cropped out of the submitted picture. You can only see a PS3 in its entirety.
Devs don't want to make their multiplats reflect the differences in the tech too much. Console-only owners would probably feel as shafted by a vastly superior PC version as much as they do when a game looks/plays better on PS3 or 360.
And since consoles are their main money-maker, we're unfortunately an afterthought.

So the art style changed. Who cares? You detractors act as if they brought in Disney to rewrite the entire game into a feel good romantic comedy. What happened to not judging books by their covers?
It's the same game with the same quality. Don't get all weak sister just because it doesn't look exactly like every other UE3 shooter this gen.
